The Board

Michael R O’Sullivan MPFP, FAICD
With nearly 20 years’ experience in finance and investment, Michael has been with the Provident Capital Group since its inception in 1990. His mortgage experience includes private mortgage lending (private syndications), balance sheet lending and securitisation. Michael previously held the position of Managing Director for First Pacific Corporation Limited and has been an authorised representative for Securitor Limited and Colonial. He holds a Masters in Personal Financial Planning and is a Fellow of Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Trevor J Seymour PNA, FAICD
Trevor is a Director of chartered accountants Brentnalls NSW, having been with them since 1988 after spending 10 years in banking. With experience in general financing and business management, he has been with Provident Capital Limited since its inception. He is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and a non-executive Director and Chairman of the Board’s audit and compliance committee.

Malcolm P Bersten B.Com, LL.B, FAICD
As a solicitor, Malcolm has over 30 years’ experience in business, finance and commercial property law. He has been involved with Provident Capital Limited since its inception. Malcolm joined the Board as a non-executive Director in July 2000. Since July 2007 he has been full-time in-house legal counsel for the Company. He is accredited by the Law Society of NSW as a specialist in business law and is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

John P Sweeney FCPA, GAIDC.
John was appointed to the Board as a non-executive director in July 2008. He is also a member of the Board's audit and compliance commitee. His careers achievements include 20 years with ORIX Australian Corporation Limited, the last 10 years as Managing Director (1995 to 2005) and Syndicate Chairman of the CEO Institute. John is a Fellow of CPA Australia, Senior Fellow of the Financial Services Institute of Australia, a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Management.

Salman Haq FCIS, CA, FCA (England and Wales).
Salman was appointed Company Secretary in July 2000. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries, a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia and a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales. Salman’s career spans over 20 years including positions with Touche Ross & Co and Goodman Fielder Limited.
